Stripping Stain Off Cabinet

I stained an unfinished oak cabinet with stain and it turned out too dark. Is there a way to strip the stain off to make it look unfinished or close to unfinished again? I tried using BIX varnish and stain stripper and it did not work. I left it on

PREVIOUS WHITE PAINT THAT WAS OVER THE DARK BLUE WOODWORK WAS PEELING OFF. SHOULD I USE SOME KIND OF PRIMER OVER THE DARK BLUE BEFORE I PAINT IT WHITE AGAIN?
