I have a rocking chair made of oak and cherry, I’m wanting a contrasting look. Should I stain the cherry and leave the oak alone, and do I use a cherry stain for the cherry or what?

It really depends on the colors you are after. The cherry will be easier to stain when compared to oak. If I was to stain one wood and leave the other it would be the cherry.
