Is moisture inspection recommended before repainting home with elastomeric paint?

share

It is time to repaint. We have a stucco like finish with only one small visible crack. However, we did replace a door due to termites. Should we have the whole house inspected for moisture before painting with elastomeric. House is in high humidity area.

  1. Yes, inspection for moisture and insects is a good idea. Being a thick coating elastomeric paint, like all paints, can trap moisture inside walls. A full inspection now could find problem areas that need repair before going through the expense of a good paint job.
