White chalky splotches.

share

Late last summer we first primered our house with a red tinted Kilz. Then we painted with a latex exterior Red. Now, on occasion, white chalk like splotches appear on certain areas. Can I fix this problem?

  1. Prime the affected areas with a stain blocking oil base primer, Zinsser Cover Stain will work well. Now repaint the areas. Since this is a red paint the new paint might look differently when compared to the old paint. To reduce this paint a section corner to corner.
