Wainscot over a very damaged wall. Would this be a viable solution and how should I prep the wall before applying. I plan on putting white wainscot on with a “chair rail” and then just painting a nice color on top of the wall. Is there a brand of wainscot you recommend? Does it come in kits? I am not very good a cutting. I am 65 year old lady.

Your local Home Depot has several types of this material to choose from… but "kits" no not really…actually any type of wall "paneling" will work… adding the chair rail is good… but, overall unfortunately some "cutting" will be required (using power tools)…
