How To Roll A Ceiling

share

First, attach the long extension stick to the roller handle. Painters call this the “idiot stick”; you will see why…

Load up the skin with enough paint, but not to the dripping point…

Always roll from side to side, while stepping backwards along the floor. Rolling forward and back towards you, will get you covered in paint spray…

Keep the open end of the roller away from you, and keep a LITTLE pressure on the heel end as you roll from side to side. This controls lapping…

Cover an area about 4ft by 3ft before getting more paint. Roll over the last wet area just slightly, to control texture… Don’t “work” the roller trying to get the paint to “stretch”
One heavy coat is better than two thin coats…

You can use the open end to “jam” into the ceiling-wall edge, so that you don’t have to brush it…

You can wet down a new dry skin with water and spin it dry before loading it with paint, otherwise it takes a few rolls before the skin works correctly with paint…
