Interior Preperation for Painting

share

Painting is all about Prep work. We spend more time actually prepping a room then we do painting.

Before doing any painting you must get all the sheet rock repairs done first. Skimming out all the imperfections is important. Once you put paint on the wall all the imperfections come to life. Unless your using Flat paint. I always urge my customers to go with Eggshell Paint if possible. It takes a more skilled painter to use any kind of paint with a Sheen.

Wall work is important. Perfecting this is a must because once that glossy sheen is applied the light catches all the imperfections and reflects them bringing them to life. Therefore this is our strategy when it comes to painting.

First we sand all the walls to knock off all the debris. You’ll be surprised at what comes off. Next what we do is skim out the walls. Then we sand again. Do all the caulking and hopefully we’re on our way. Hopefully this was a little helpful.
