We have painted over textured wallpaper. Where we cut in and then rolled the rest of the wall, we can see where we cut in. How do we correct? Can we use a thicker roller over the entire area?

I am working with a purple-colored wood and I want to keep the color exactly like it is. Do I need to use a sealer before putting on a clear gloss finish? I have used polyurethane and polyacrylic, both are changing the color of the cedar I am working with.

We recently purchased a house in Hershey, Pa. The exterior shutters are in need of repainting. They are aluminum and my husband suggested we spray paint them, but I’m not sure that is the way to go. What do you suggest?
