I am painting my long living room cranberry and have a small hallway on one side.. What color would be best to paint the hallway walls? I am putting hardwood laminate down through both the living room and the hallway.

We just hired a painter to paint our bathroom at $30 per hour. He was going to charge same rate to clean up mess plus we also paid for tack cloth, hand mask and blade whatever those items are? Is this fair?
