Bubbling Paint

share

Bubbling paint has started to appear in quite a big section on our interior lounge wall before the kitchen door frame. It sits just above the skirting board. Could this be caused by dampness?

One Response

  1. Underlying moisture is a common cause of bubbling paint. Another possibility is surface contamination when the paint was applied. This could cause a chemical reaction and off-gassing.

Check for moisture by scraping back the bubbled paint and seeing what is underneath. Some sources could be roof leaks, plumbing leaks and near by door and window frames.
