Cover grease spots with latex paint?

share

Bathroom walls are latex painted. Now have sprayed oil spots that need to be covered. I have cleaned area with TSP.

What type of primer should I use to cover grease spots? After primer can I use my leftover latex to paint just the affected wall?

  1. You can use either a stain resistant oil base primer, like Kilz, or a shellac primer. The shellac primer is the best choice overall. Once the spots are sealer with a primer you can go ahead and touch up the primed areas.
