Do I need to apply primer to all stucco areas?

share

I have pressure washed it and gotten all loose paint off. I have sealed the cracks in the stucco. I know I have to prime the repaired areas and the bear areas, but what about where there is still paint.

  1. No need for primer if the existing painted areas are in good shape. By good shape I mean no heavy chalky deposits or alligatored paint (severe cracks).

If these areas are in good shape, you can spot prime the rest. Use a good exterior acrylic primer. It will be the best for stucco surfaces.
