I found a old dresser (circa 1950’s) at the local Habitat Store that I’m going to convert to a TV Stand.
I stripped the veneer off and sanded it. What is my next step before applying poly-stain?

If that's what you intend to do… assuming it is down to bare wood… go ahead and apply the Stain… be sure to IMMEDIATELY Wipe the wet Stain with a clean dry cloth, to insure a uniform finish…
After it is all DRY… apply a coat of clear Varnish to protect the Stain… a satin sheen looks best…
