I recently purchased a Cedar Chest that was painted over. I stripped the paint to find a beautiful laminated face to the peace. It was broken into 4 side panels with a 4 piece diamond shape in the center. I was wondering if there is any technique to be able to apply different colors of stain to the laminate without any bleed through to the other sections.

A picture of the project would help me advise.
I will say that yes, you should be able to stain the sections differently.
Really a simple concept. Be careful and try to lay a cloth over the areas you do not wish to stain the color you are staining.
