How to know if paint is still good? – The Practical House Painting Guide

How to know if paint is still good?

share

How do I know if my paint is still good after sitting for a long period of time? It appears thin or watery like – want to paint the ceiling in the kitchen.

One Response

  1. Smell the paint. Rotten paint will have a bad smell plus if there was any mold on top of the paint it isn't a good idea to use. Now stir the paint really well to mix in all liquids with the thick solids on the bottom of the can.

If it smells good (like paint) and mixes together without quickly separating then it is still good to use.
