I mistakenly painted an exterior steel door with latex paint. Should I strip the paint before repainting with oil base paint? If so, what should I use for stripping?

A good acrylic (latex) if fine for steel doors. If the paint is well adhered and looks good then there is nothing more to do but enjoy it.
If you want to repaint with an oil base then prime first with a quick drying universal oil base primer.
I would not suggest stripping unless you begin to see rust spots. If that happens, I would recommend sanding removing the finish through sanding as opposed to stripping. Stripping usually involves removing of the material with water and that would cause further surface rusting.
