I’m building a new house and painted the new drywall; primed first, used a latex paint. The next day the paint was streaked and peeling like strips of rubber. What in the world caused this???

Sounds like hot mud was used and the primer couldn't deal with the high alkaline condition. How long was the drywall mud allowed to dry before painting? This can happen if there was too much moisture still in the mud. What primer was used? A PVA wallboard primer would have been a good idea for this situation.
