Primer on just one spot?

share

I have a round spot of water stain on my ceiling. I have primed the spot to cover it up before I paint the entire ceiling. Do I have to prime the entire ceiling or am I okay just priming the one spot?

  1. Karen, you will be fine to just prime the water stain as that will bleed through the paint if left unprimed. You will notice after painting, that the paint takes longer to dry on the primed spot than the rest of the ceiling. This is normal and should dry in to match rest of ceiling after some time is allowed.
