Washing My House Prior To Priming

share

What should I wash my house with prior to priming it for the finish paint job? I only want to do this once, and I want to do it right. I’ve scraped, and I’ve sanded. Is there another step that I can take before somebody hits me with ‘Oh! You should have done ………….. or …………….?’

  1. The amount of washing depends on the condition of your home. If dust and a little dirt is all there is, water and a little pressure from a power washer is all that is necessary (1200-1500 psi). For removing oils and other offending stains use a mild soap and water with a scrub brush then rinse with the power washer.
