We are painting the exterior a chocolate brown that has a bit of a red hue to it. The trim will be dark brown (almost black). Roof is black. What colour would you suggest painting the front door?

The first thing that came to my mind is rust red. Browns and greens wouldn't look good, in my opinion. Experiment with a red by painting some cardboard, or similar material, and placing it in front of the door. Stand back and take a look. You can paint or repaint the cardboard until you have that perfect color.
