A typical good paint job can last for 8-10 years.  This depends on many things; your location, exposer to strong sun, hail, other weather extremes, etc.  Plus the quality of materials used, paint and caulking, and the amount, 2 coats or 1 coat of paint.
If your home hasn’t been repainted since 2005 then I’m sure it is due for a good paint job.
