Spray Painting

share

I want to paint my kitchen cabinets and get a really smooth (almost non porous) surface. After researching, I found that spray painting is the only way to get the surface I want. However, spray painting machines are kind of expensive considering that I am only using it for once or so..

So my question is, do spray cans work as well as the machine does?

  1. I would not recommend using spray paint to refinish your cabinets. If you are looking for a non porous surface you will have to prime the cabinets with a high build primer and then sand the primer with a fine to medium grit sandpaper or sanding sponge before applying several coats of finish. Check your local independent paint stores or equipment rental places for an airless paint spraying machine or an HVLP sprayer. If you do use an airless sprayer make sure you have a fine finish spray tip.
